Heritage Oil

FTSE250 company Heritage Oil is an independent oil and gas production and exploration company listed on the London Stock Exchange, with a secondary listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Heritage Oil is the sixth largest oil company listed on London with a market capitalisation of over $2.3 billion.

Following a corporate reorganisation in 2008, Heritage Oil Limited (“Heritage Jersey”) became the parent company of Heritage and its corporate head office was set up in Windward House, St Helier.

Windward House in the Liberty Wharf waterfront is one of the newer office developments in St Helier and the light and bright top floor offices of Heritage Oil look out over the marina with breathtaking views across Elizabeth Marina and St Aubin Bay.

Axis Mason Interiors were selected to oversee the fitout of the new headquarters and the design team was headed up by Mark Coppins and Siobhann MacLeod who worked closely with the client and with Paul Watson (Style Office) to create what is surely one of Jersey’s finest office environments.

The high specification interior was designed to provide cellular offices and open place office space and materials such as limed oak, travertine and Armourcoat polish plaster were combined with full height minimalist glass partitioning to create a contemporary office landscape.

When it came to the selection of the furniture, the client had in mind high quality pieces that would sit well within the sophisticated interior and support their ways of working.

For the open plan office areas Paul Watson proposed Steelcase Frameone bench workstations with Partito accessory screens, partnered with the high performance Please taskchair.

The client liked the lightweight appearance of the leg structure of Frameone and the superior cable management suited their IT needs. They selected the special slimline TechTop which is in solid laminate and finished in light Acacia wood effect with black edge detail. Silver framework to the underside of the desking helped to create a clean, contemporary appearance.

Ahrend 123 sliding door storage featuring unusual, perforated steel acoustic doors with black back pattern were used in the open office areas. Configured back to back with single laminate tops they created ancillary work tops and printer stations.

The state-of-the-art boardroom was created with Bene wall cladding that incorporated a large Plasma screen TV. Very high quality Bene AL Group tables and credenzas were chosen for both the main boardroom and the meeting room.

The Boardroom table features slim line dark cherry veneered top with full length cable tray and table top aluminium access flap to power and data sockets. The table is supported on aerofoil shaped aluminium legs with mirror box cable housing beneath the top.

In both rooms the tables were coupled with Bene Rondo conference chairs in cream leather with four star swivel bases.

Paul Atherton, Chief Financial Officer of Heritage Oil stated:
“We are delighted with the appearance and functionality of the office. The advice and recommendations from Style Office and Axis Mason Interiors were instrumental in us being able to create the foremost office space in Jersey.”
